The Tournament - 2010

The Co-operators and Mississauga Senator Hockey club are the proud hosts of The Co-operators Cup Peewee International Tournament that draws the participation of the most talented Peewee players from Canada and the USA. The tournament has been ongoing since 1983 and has produced many graduates from this tournament that have continued to enjoy the game of hockey. They include Matt Stajan, Eric Lindros, Manny Malhotra, David Legwand, Jason Spezza, Carlo Colaiacovo, Mike Ricci, and the list goes on. The tournament has produced such an entertaining and quality product that even famed NHL personalities Don Cherry, Bryan Lewis & Walter Gretzky have visited the tournament to enjoy the exciting action. Our title sponsor and partner, The Co-operators is an integral part of this tournament as well as a strong supporter of grassroots hockey in Canada. Their involvement is helping to continue the rich tradition of this tournament.

When and Where
September 10th through September 12th, 2010. The early bird tournament takes place at the state of the art, Iceland Arena in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Tournament Format
The tournament will consist of 32 AAA Major Peewee teams. The tournament format will provide for eight divisions and all participating teams will be guaranteed four round robin games. All games including playoffs will consist of three - 15 minute periods (stop time). The top team of each division will advance to the Championship round while the second place teams will advance to the Consolation round playoffs.

Team Selection
Any Major Peewee AAA Team may apply to the "invitational" event however; the tournament selection committee reserves the right to choose the participating teams from the list of applications. To be considered for the tournament, all team applications must include a completed tournament application including full payment. Teams must be affiliated with one of the following: CHA, USA Hockey or IIHF.

Awards and Special Events
Awards for the tournament include the Co-operators Cup Championship Trophy, Player of the Game Awards, Tournament MVP Trophy, Individual Awards & Team Medals.

Entry Fee Application Form and Tournament Information
Entry fee for the Co-op Cup is $875. For further information regarding the tournament (application information, tournament rules & guideless, scheduling) please follow the web links. Applications are to be completed on-line.
